Breastmilk Supply and Rate of Production:
One of my favorite gurus in the lactation world says “If a breast can make milk, it can make more milk!”
A good rate of production (supply) is typically based on frequency of demand and deep breast drainage (which comes from a deep latch). It is common to have less supply in afternoon and evening but it is important to still stimulate and evacuate the breast regardless of how much you get out (frequent emptying ). Breast compression during the evacuation (by babe or pump) may help increase the rate of production and overall supply.
Other things to consider that can decrease your supply (let me know if any of these factor in for you): shallow latch / nipple pain, extreme fatigue, illness of you or babe, birth control hormones, pregnancy, menstration, change in medications, dehydration and overhydration as well as some maternal medical conditions of the thyroid and pituitary.

An alcohol free liquid concentrate in vegetarian capsules. This blend of more milk plus with goat's rue was specially formulated at the request of lactation consultants. It stimulates the development of mammary tissue and safely and effectively increases breast milk for women with special needs such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), breast surgery and adoptive mothers. This formula is also helpful for women who did not increase in breast size during pregnancy. Not for use during pregnancy.
